We are currently recruiting an Echo/ Vascular Sonographer for our established cardiology practice in beautiful Southern Arizona. The candidate must be ARDMS eligible and two years of cardiac ultrasound is preferred. The candidate should also possess developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently when necessary.

SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following/ other duties may be assigned):

  • Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment.
  • Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems.
  • Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information.
  • Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary.
  • Completes exam billing forms.
  • Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each cardiovascular examination performed.
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate diagnostic information to the individual office physician.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient’s needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to follow established departmental procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the office area.
  • Reports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ARDMS registered preferred but will consider ARDMS eligible, 2+ years Cardiac Echo/ Vascular scanning experience, Must have a positive attitude and team player mentality
