Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in a procedural setting. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Acts as a role model and resource to other clinical staff in the area.
Required Qualifications:
• 1 year nursing experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab and 2 years’ experience in Cardiac Critical Care unit or a Cardiothoracic intensive care unit, OR completion of a hemodynamic course with 1 year experience in a Cardiac Critical Care unit or Cardiothoracic Intensive care unit (all experience must be within the past 2 years)
• 6 months experience with Electrophysiology procedures and or Device implant procedures within the past 2 years
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Life Support
• Current CA RN license
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Knowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoring
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Must possess skill, knowledge and ability to administer conscious sedation, circulate, monitor, and recover a patient undergoing a diagnostic and therapeutic Cardiac Catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Skill, knowledge and ability to provide procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/ or device implant procedures
• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
