Excellent locum tenens Hospitalist job opportunity in northern Alabama! Client has recently started their own Hospitalist program. They are VERY flexible on how the schedule could work...either do a 7 on/7 off or 14 on/7 off...even part-time availability would help. Pretty much any schedule can work for this. There will be 12-hour days and could be 12-hour nights, if preferred by the locums physicians. They will start the program with the Hospitalist only taking the unassigned patients from the ER. Eventually the local PC docs will hand over their inpatients, but not for a while until the program is well established. Anticipated volume is 12-15 ppd; this includes around 2-5 admits. There are Pulmonologists on staff that can take over if patients are admitted to the ICU. The Hospitalist could follow them through as well, if they wish, but this is not required. The ER docs will respond to codes, not the Hospitalist. This need will last until perm candidates are found. Travel and lodging (apartment or extended stay) will be provided. Physicians requiring Alabama licensure will also be considered and they are ready to talk with potential candidates immediately!
