Basic Function:

Position will scrub, circulate, and first assist during open heart, thoracic and other cardio-vascular procedures. As part of the health care team, assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.

Significant Responsibilities:

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to service area.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:

• · Graduate of school of professional nursing.

Experience:

• · At least two years experience. OR experience strongly preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration:

• · Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
• · Must obtain/maintain CPR, and possibly ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications based on specific work unit.

Other minimum qualifications:

• · Keyboarding skills required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
• · Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements.
• · Must be able to meet essential job functions.
