ABOUT CARDIAC CATH LAB TECH POSITION:

This position is responsible for operating radiologic equipment and maintaining excellence in radiographic imaging for the purpose of precise documentation during procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab to ensure optimal quality care of adult and geriatric patients. The new hire will provide skilled assistance to physicians and patient care in all procedures performed in the Cath Lab, and actively participate in ongoing performance improvement and quality assurance. This position may require the individual to be "On-Call", carrying a pager and the ability to respond to the Cath Lab for emergency procedure within 30 minutes of the call in.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates all radiographic equipment and assists physician to obtain the best quality imaging result for each specific adult and/or geriatric patient.
  • Maintains proper collation and identification of the various forms of imaging archival systems used in the cath lab.
  • Assists with complete pre- and post-procedure cath lab and patient set up as required for patients.
  • Assists physicians in the role of Scrub Technician as needed. Maintains proper sterile technique during procedures. Responds and assists appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Monitors and records ECG and pressure waveforms during the procedure; demonstrates knowledge of normal and abnormal coronary anatomy and physiology for patients.
  • Records key events occurring during procedure and enters supplies via the inventory management system.
  • Ensures the efficient operation of the department by evaluating workflow throughout the day, keeps rooms stocked with supplies, and coordinates schedules with multi-disciplinary team members to facilitate throughput.
  • Promotes professional development within the delivery of care. Interacts and participates in the education and orientation of hospital personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes and supports the growth of others through precepting and mentoring. Demonstrates positive communication and collaboration with patients and their families, cohorts and physicians

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience, training and education needed to preform the job.
  • Ability to provide and uphold the company's Service Excellence Standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and effective human relations skills.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS certified
  • 1 or more years experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Excellent typing skills for data entry
  • Advanced Cardiac Live Support (ACLS) Certigication is required within one year of employment.
