Excitement at Florida Hospital Waterman is building as we prepare for expansion of our cardiac service line - into Open Heart surgery. We're now hiring the core group of nurses for our Open Heart program, featuring the Universal Bed Care Delivery Model. Be a formative member of our Open Heart team, and influence the program's success from the ground up.

In this key role, you will be responsible for:

• Working under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular Services, the Clinical Nurse Specialist primary responsibility is to identify staff educational needs and provide clinical instruction, collaborate in the management of heart and vascular patients, facilitate best nursing practices, serve as a leader, consultant and liaison, and conduct research to improve nursing practice.

Qualified candidates must be Florida-licensed Registered Nurses with:

• MSN and certification in BLS and ACLS required.
• Must have 5 years of recent post Open Heart surgery experience.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit.
• The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
