The Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech II, under the direction of the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services or Supervisor of Noninvasive, performs high quality cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures that require ingenuity, initiative and independent judgment.  Must be capable of following department policies, procedure and protocol to provide quality patient care.

• 2-D echo exams to assess for LV function, wall motion abnormalities, cardiac and pericardial diseases, and valvular morphology.
• Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echo's (TEE) and Stress Echo (treadmill and Dobutamine), line placement and peri-operative assessments.
• Vascular ultrasound exams to include: carotid ultrasounds, upper/lower extremity arterial/venous evaluations, and arterial studies with segmentals.
• Promptly and accurately compiles exam documentation and technical worksheet for physician interpretation.
• Provides preliminary technical information as applicable.  Qualifications:
• Vocational/Specialized Ultrasound Training or Graduate of Specialized Ultrasound School. (i.e. Arizona Heart Institute and Foundation)
• 6 months as Cardiac  and/or vascular Ultrasound Technologist (hospital or cardiologist office), or Ultrasound School New Graduate with 3 months Hospital Cardiac and/or vascular Ultrasound experience under the supervision of an experienced Cardiac and/or Vascular Sonographer.
• Current ARDMS (American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) (see job posting on-line.
