Description:

Provides education to patients and families specific to pre, intra, and post cardiac procedures and the treatment heart disease. Provides additional education as assessed. Initiates IV therapy. Functions in all rolls of the Cath lab or EP lab (i.e. circulating (RCIS and Paramedics only), scrubbing, and hemodynamic monitoring).

Education/Requirements:

  • BLS/ACLS Certification
  • Current RCIS, RT (R), or PA registered Paramedic or registry eligible RT or CVT graduate (must pass boards within six months of hire)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret heart rhythms
  • Sufficient knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring systems and the database to maintain accurate records and the maintenance of radiation safety protection devices required
