About Cardiac Ultrasound Tech Jobs

An Ultrasound of the heart is sometimes referred to as echocardiography. It's a test using high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the heart. Images from reflected echoes are displayed and recorded. No radiation (x-ray) is used during ultrasound.

The test is done by a cardiac sonographer (a technologist with extensive training in ultrasound) and takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete. A benefit of an echocardiographic examination is that images are in real time giving Cardiologists a helpful tool for diagnoses. (Source: radiologyinfo.com and American Heart Association)

We are currently looking for a Cardiac Sonographer for our CardioDiagnostics Department. 

Schedule: Days, Saturdays, On Call PM as needed

Requirments:

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or obtain within 1 year.
  • BLS Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training is mandatory
  • Registration in the field of Cardiac Sonography is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine echocardiograms
  • Echocardiograms without colorflow doppler
  • Stress echocardiograms
  • Assisting with transesophaegal biopsy procedures
  • Prepare patients for echocardiographic diagnostic testing and instructs patients regarding test procedures.
  • Preforms as ordered, in accordance with established procedure.
  • Documents and processes echocardiographic orders for entry order.
  • Checks related equipment daily for proper functioning.
  • Orders supplies accordingly
  • Performs 12 lead EKG's

Must be organized and able to funcation independently.  Must posses strong human relation and communication skills.  Ability to accurately document patient information.
