About Cardiology Jobs

A cardiology physician is trained to discover, treat and prevent problems and diseases of the cardiovascular system-the heart, arteries, and veins. Cardiology is considered a subspecialty of internal medicine (IM). Cardiologists have three years of training in internal medicine and three addition years that specialize in cardiology.

Cardiologists often perform tests that determine how well a person's heart is working. These procedures may include a treadmill test (exercise electrocardiogram), cardiac catheterization, or angioplasty. Cardiologists can further specialize in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology. (Source: American College of Cardiology)

Cardiology - Interventional

Missoula, Montana -- St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center is seeking an interventional cardiologist to join our renowned heart team. Physician will join the 13-physician group at the International Heart Institute of Montana (IHI) that includes cardiologists (EP, interventional and non-interventional), and cardiothoracic surgeons. IHI is housed within St. Patrick, a Level II trauma center that received the Premier Award for Quality for Acute Myocardial Infarction in 2007 and has been named a Top 100 Hospital by Thomson Healthcare (formerly Solucient). St. Patrick collaborates with other health and science organizations, including the University of Montana, combining the skills and talents of the hospital's exceptional staff with those of top professors and researchers in cardiology, neuroscience and other fields. Come join us in scenic, sophisticated Missoula!

Missoula is a growing university town of 65,000 located about halfway between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. The Clark Fork River runs through it, granite peaks surround it, and that famous Big Sky hangs over it all. The area offers unlimited recreational opportunities (ski, paddle, fish or hike out your back door) and numerous cultural amenities, including a symphony and an active theatre and arts scene. Missoula is a family-oriented community with great schools (elementary through university) and social activities year round. The climate is relatively mild; winters, for example, are warmer here than in much of the Midwest and Northeast. Western Montana summers are absolutely glorious, with long, adventure-inspiring days, starry nights and fresh mountain air.

St. Patrick is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and physician partners in Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Providence has a proud 150-year history in the West, and we continue to grow with the communities we serve. With more than 300 physician opportunities in virtually all specialties, we offer physicians diverse lifestyle choices, flexible work arrangements and robust practice support.
