About Cardiology Jobs

A cardiology physician is trained to discover, treat and prevent problems and diseases of the cardiovascular system-the heart, arteries, and veins. Cardiology is considered a subspecialty of internal medicine (IM). Cardiologists have three years of training in internal medicine and three addition years that specialize in cardiology.

Cardiologists often perform tests that determine how well a person's heart is working. These procedures may include a treadmill test (exercise electrocardiogram), cardiac catheterization, or angioplasty. Cardiologists can further specialize in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology. (Source: American College of Cardiology)

Non-Invasive or Invasive/Non-Interventional Cardiologist


Highly respected group seeks additional invasive non-interventional or strictly non-invasive cardiologist for satellite office.

This is a 38 person group with offices in and around Austin. They are looking for an additional strictly non-invasive cardiologist. The position is for a new office in a growing community located 60 minutes from Austin.

This position is well suited for someone interested in developing a practice but not in participating in a busy call schedule. This office has privileges at two hospitals. Call will be shared with another partner in a nearby office and will be 1:2 weeknights and 1:3 weekends. Call is not rigorous.

The group offers an excellent compensation package, including a first year salary of 400,000 plus and partnership at the end of the first year with a reasonable buy-in. Compensation is based on productivity and is in the top 2% for many of the partners.
