About Cardiology Jobs

A cardiology physician is trained to discover, treat and prevent problems and diseases of the cardiovascular system-the heart, arteries, and veins. Cardiology is considered a subspecialty of internal medicine (IM). Cardiologists have three years of training in internal medicine and three addition years that specialize in cardiology.

Cardiologists often perform tests that determine how well a person's heart is working. These procedures may include a treadmill test (exercise electrocardiogram), cardiac catheterization, or angioplasty. Cardiologists can further specialize in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology. (Source: American College of Cardiology)

Invasive Non-Interventional Cardiologist

A group of two cardiologists are seeking an additional invasive cardiologist preferably with advanced training in nuclear cardiology and/or echocardiography. Their third partner is leaving the practice as his wife has accepted a position in Chicago. They have a very busy practice and the successful candidate will be busy from day one.

There is a cath lab at the health system however all interventional procedures are done at two of the tertiary care centers which are about 25 minutes from this central Michigan practice.

The group is offering a competitive salary in year one with additional incentive based on productivity and partnership at the end of the second year. The practice has two invasive cardiologists and one interventionalist and is growing rapidly. The hospital is extremely supportive of the group and is assisting in recruitment. This is a great position for a physician interested in a busy group with an excellent future in the Midwest.

Fellows who completing their training in 2010 or 2011 as well as senior physicians will be considered.
