About Cardiology Jobs
A cardiology physician is trained to discover, treat and prevent problems and diseases of the cardiovascular system-the heart, arteries, and veins. Cardiology is considered a subspecialty of internal medicine (IM). Cardiologists have three years of training in internal medicine and three addition years that specialize in cardiology.
Cardiologists often perform tests that determine how well a person's heart is working. These procedures may include a treadmill test (exercise electrocardiogram), cardiac catheterization, or angioplasty. Cardiologists can further specialize in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology. (Source: American College of Cardiology)
This thirteen person group located in Buffalo, New York is seeking an additional interventionalist to join their busy service. Advanced training in peripherals is preferred but not required. Training in carotids is also welcome but not required.
The position will have strong volumes in year one and will be the fourth interventionalist in the group. The interventionalists participate in backup call. The practice does not currently have an endovascular program so a well trained candidate with peripheral training would be very successful. Training in AFO and PSD closures as well as AAA’s also welcome.
The group is extremely dynamic and dominant in their market. The partnership track is two years. They offer a good starting salary with a generous signing bonus. Their buy in is internally financed over five years and the partners do very well.
Very nice people, the group values family time and offers generous vacation (four weeks plus a week of CME in year one and increasing to a total of nine weeks at partner) and other benefits. This is a wonderful opportunity for a young physician interested in a prestigious and busy practice in the northeast.
Fellows finishing their training in 2010 or 2011 as well as senior physicians will be considered.
