Position Description

The cardiologist will provide the majority of services in an outpatient setting, with an average weekly patient load of around 79 patients, with a mix of new consults and return visits.

Outpatient services include evaluating patients utilizing various methods, including questions, physical examination, symptom review, and testing in order to make a recommended treatment plan.

Must be able to conduct and analyze test results and prescribe medications or therapies as necessary.

Inpatient work consists of a limited number of consults, as well as transesophageal echo and cardioversion, reading cardiac diagnostic studies including stress tests, Holter monitors and echocardiograms.

Will consult with surgeons and advise on patient procedures as necessary.

Must be able to follow and monitor patient progress post-surgery, providing tools and education for optimal recovery


Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Degree

  • Completion of a clinical residency program and or cardiology fellowship

  • Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiology or related subspecialty

  • Successful completion of U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)

  • Arizona State Medical License

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
