About Catheterization Lab Jobs

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is a dedicated service for diagnostic and interventional cardiology. It's also known as the cardiac cath lab. In this department several interventional procedures are preformed on patients who require peripheral diagnostic and acute cardiac care. It is routine to diagnose heart problems as well as repair them in the cath lab.

Cardiac Catheterization is a non surgical procedure and is minimally invasive. It's used to diagnose and treat problems with the heart and arteries. Cardiac Catheterization is sometimes referred to as a heart cath or angiography.


Cardiac / Vascular Sonographer


We are currently seeking a full time Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer for our CVIS Non Invasive Lab to perform non-invasive imaging procedures of the Cardiac Graphics and/or Vascular Laboratories in order to facilitate appropriate diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Day/Shift
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.0 To perform all non-invasive imaging procedures in the Cardiac Graphics and/or Vascular Laboratories in addition to proper billing of the procedures and prioritizing patient scheduling.
1.1 Coordinates and prioritizes patient scheduling in order to insure procedure completion in a timely fashion.
1.2 Prior to testing, obtains information for specific procedures to be performed, answer pertinent questions to patients concerning procedures and are courteous to patients and their families 100% of the time.
1.3 Performs all non-invasive imaging procedures within established guidelines and timeframes.
1.4 Notifies appropriate medical staff if images appear to variate from normal images as appropriate.
1.5 Documents procedure performed within patient chart to inform the physician that the test has been completed.
1.6 Calculate and measures cardiovascular structures from procedure data in order to aid the physician in interpreting results and achieving a diagnosis.
1.7 Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the equipment, procedure rooms and work areas of the Cardiac Graphics and Vascular Laboratories.
1.8 Completes and compiles billings slips and accurate documentation through CHIP to ensure accurate procedure billing.

Requirements: 
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Registered and/or certified in a knowledgeable society of non-invasive vascular/cardiology sonographers
Prefer minimum experience of 1 year within a certified echocardiography or vascular laboratory

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR certified within 30 days of hire
