We are currently seeking a full time Echo/Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic testing and echocardiography, doppler, flow analysis, color flow mapping and M-mode on adult and pediatric patients suspected of having cardiac disease.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Registered R.D.C.S. or registry eligible according to American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's standards.
2.Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for job title and the unit/area s of assignment.
3.Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.
4.Ability to manage a chaotic work environment related to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying.
5.Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect .
6.Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
Schedule/Shft: Full time, Mon-Fri, 7:30am-6:00pm, Rotating Saturdays, On call off hours 6:00pm-7:30am and Saturdays.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Serve as a role model and mentor to other echocardiography techs.
2.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of age appropriate care. Will perform appropriate procedures and protocols using knowledge and understanding to provide uniform and age appropriate care to patients/families.
3.Obtain diagnostic information historical and clinical from patient or patient records necessary for interpretation of the study ies .
4.Provide necessary reports for the referring physician s , medical director, health information services and echo lab files.
5.Maintain echo records, charges, and the files to assure items are properly recorded and filed.
6.Maintain all echo lab equipment in good working condition to assure clinically valid test results.
7.Maintain supplies for the echo lab to assure ample supplies for proper function of the service.
8.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, twisting/turning from waist, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing/pulling objects on rollers/wheels. Occasional climbing, right/left foot movement use of pedals . Limited reaching above shoulder level. Moving objects horizontally left to right and vertically up and down frequently up to 10 lbs. Frequent handling holding, grasping, working with hands and fine finger manipulation pinching, picking, working with fingers . Senses needed to perform the essential functions of the position assess, monitor, and evaluate people and their environment. Frequent need to hear and talk in quiet/noisy surroundings and talk/hear over the telephone. Vision for near/far acuity, depth perception, color vision. Touch for feeling size, shape temperature, texture by finger receptors . Smell to determine hot/burning equipment.
