Sr. Special Procedures Tech Cath Lab


Position Description:

As a member of the Cath Lab team, the Sr. Special Procedures Tech operates and maintains Radiology and related equipment so that patient care, safety and data obtained are at an optimum. This position also assists the supervisor in the training of personnel and assures that the department complies with State and Federal regulations.

Reports to: Cath Lab Supervisor

Supervises: None

 

Qualifications:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • California Technologist License, (CRT)
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification
  • California Fluoroscopy permit
  • Successful completion of Cardiac Dysrhythmia course or possess equivalent experience

B. Education:

  • High School Grad

C. Experience:

  • Two Years

D. Special Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cine radiography and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy visualization under fluoroscopy.
  • Knowledge of cardiac pressure wave forms in each area.
  • Knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias.
  • Knowledge of normal lab values, i.e. hematology and blood chemistry.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety.
