Catheterization Lab jobs are regulated by the Illinois Medical Board. As part of the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, the mission of the Illinois Medical Licensing and Disciplinary Boards is to serve, safeguard, and promote the public welfare by ensuring that licensure qualifications and standards for professional practice are properly evaluated, accurately applied and vigorously enforced. These boards advise the Department and the Secretary on the qualifications of applicants for licensure as physicians in Illinois as well as on the appropriate form of discipline for misconduct by medical professionals.
Memorial Medical Center is a 562 bed acute-care hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. Its Centers for Excellence include the Memorial Heart and Vascular Institute, the Center for Neuromuscular Sciences, Emergency Services, Family Maternity Suites, Regional Cancer Center, Regional Burn Center, Orthopedic Institute, Memorial Behavioral Health Group and Regional Kidney Center. Memorial’s Koke Mill Medical Center on the city’s west side offers a full spectrum of medical services. It is a teaching hospital affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
The manager operates within Memorial Medical Center’s corporate and hospital mission, philosophy, goals and objectives. The manager assumes 24-hour accountability for department management and quality of patient care. The manager creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism. The manager assures that care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned department and that staff competency requirements include age-specific components. He/she maintains positive physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations as well as positive employee morale.
Knowledge, Training and Work Experience:
· RN registered in the state of Illinois or graduate of approved School of Radiology (maintains an Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certificate).
· At least three years experience in acute care nursing/cardiac cath lab with demonstrated leadership/management skills.
· Bachelor’s degree held or being actively pursued; Masters degree preferred.
· Annual attendance at educational programs pertaining to areas of responsibility.
