Catheterization Lab jobs are regulated by the Washington D.C. Medical Board. The mission of the Health Regulation and Licensing Administration of the District of Columbia is to administer all District, Federal laws and regulations governing the licensing certification and registration of health professionals, health care and human services facilities and establishments to ensure the protection of the health and safety of vulnerable children and adults who, as customers and citizens of the District of Columbia, receive services and/or medical care within these facilities and establishments and by licensed professionals.

What you'll be doing:
• Administering and coordinating the daily operations of the catheter lab, patient flow and case scheduling in coordination with charge nurse, under direction of the Director of Interventional Services.
• Serving as the Senior CV Technologist in the Catheterization Lab.
• Participating in and evaluating all technical functions relating to the catheter lab.
• Assisting in monitoring to ensure that all professional and regulatory standards are met.
• Participating in the performance improvement activities of the department.
• Supervising the maintenance of adequate equipment and supplies for the catheter lab for efficient delivery of care.
• Ordering and supervising restocking of catheter lab supplies, while monitoring and initiating price controls to stay within budgetary guidelines.
• Initiating and supervising consignment programs for the catheter lab, at the request of the Director of Interventional Services, with the assistance of the Purchasing Department.
• Performing personnel management functions for the designated area to include, but not limited to: scheduling, coaching, counseling and evaluating employees as delegated by or with the Director’s approval.
Requirements:
• High school graduate or the equivalent (GED).
• Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT).
• BS preferred.
• Appropriate IV insertion and EKG training.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or eligibility.
• Three to five years as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
• Additional cardiology exposure desirable or similar/related job experience.
• Current knowledge and techniques in Catheter Lab; knowledge of cardiology meds, EKG monitoring and starting IVs; must be able to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.
