About Electrophysiology Jobs
Cardiac electrophysiology is the study of the heart's electrical system. An electrophysiology study or EP requires insertion of an electrode catheter into the heart. The test is designed to determine the cause of heart rhythm disturbances and usually takes about two to four hours to perform. Some electrophysiology studies are done to diagnose abnormalities while others are done for treatment or correction of certain conditions, such as Pacemaker Implantation, ICD Insertion, or Cardiac Ablation.
Cardiac electrophysiology is considered a subspecialty of cardiology, and requires one or more years of fellowship training beyond a general cardiology fellowship. (Source: WebMD and Wikipedia)

Nationally recognized cardiology group in Chicago area seeking additional EP for busy, growing office.
Group established in 1973 with 7 full-service, full-time offices.
Large group comprised of cardiologists, EPs, radiologists and heart failure specialists. Group has pioneered dozens of "firsts" - technologies and treatments.
Excellent reputation.
Group offers all of the latest leading-edge cardiovascular tests and therapies such as: advanced pharmacological-nuclear tests, echocardiography, carotid ultrasound, CT ultra fast scan, cardiac catheterization (angiogram, angioplasty and atherectomy radio-frequency), and peripheral vascular testing to diagnose and treat blood vessel blockages in the limbs.
Group is recruiting an additional Interventionalist, full-time EP, and Noninvasive due to growth and expansion of office.
Group has total of 6 EPs in group.
EP candidate will work in this one office. Position will quickly evolve into 100% EP. Huge EP growth potential in this office. Patients in this area currently have a significant wait time to see EP, so patient base is there.
Candidate will have privileges in one hospital (300+ beds.) Hospital has the busiest/largest cardiac program in the vicinity and newly built Heart Hospital - dedicated cath labs and EP lab. Office located on campus of hospital; connected by covered catwalk.
Partnership. No buy-in. Call shared equally by all physicians in office (including EP candidate.) Salary guarantee plus annual bonus for non-shareholders (prior to partnership.) Partner salary based on a different distribution / formula. Historically, group has offered sign-on bonus, relocation allowance. Comprehensive benefits package.
