About Electrophysiology Jobs

Cardiac electrophysiology is the study of the heart's electrical system. An electrophysiology study or EP requires insertion of an electrode catheter into the heart. The test is designed to determine the cause of heart rhythm disturbances and usually takes about two to four hours to perform. Some electrophysiology studies are done to diagnose abnormalities while others are done for treatment or correction of certain conditions, such as Pacemaker Implantation, ICD Insertion, or Cardiac Ablation.

Cardiac electrophysiology is considered a subspecialty of cardiology, and requires one or more years of fellowship training beyond a general cardiology fellowship. (Source: WebMD and Wikipedia)

EP - Desirable Area, Virginia

Desirable Metro, Virginia

Large, single specialty cardiology group seeking well-trained, experienced EP to join busy practice.

EP must be trained in A-fib.

Position is 100% EP with exception of some rounding and call.

Vacancy due to EP growth/volume and market need.

Candidate can expect to spend 2 days per week doing A-F ablations, 1 day in office, and 2 days doing other procedures.

Full-service practice. Fully equipped office including all diagnostics.

Research available.

Work out of 1-2 hospitals, dedicated labs, state of the art cardiac equipment.

Candidate will start A-F ablation program in one hospital and can expect to do approx. 3 A-Fib ablations per week.

2 years to partnership.

Excellent starting salary. High six-figure income as partner. Partner income based on formula of productivity and equal split.

Call 1-2 nights per month for first call; 1 weekend per month.
